Contoy Island is the perfect place for a bird watching tour.

It´s decreed in 1961 during the administration of the  Adolfo Lopez Mateos, Isla Contoy like area of natural park and refuge of the national fauna. Later on, in 1986 for a federal ordinance, it was declared natural area for the protection of the species of marine turtles; also, for its geographical position, “Contoy” is the ideal refuge for a great number of birds and marine turtles in the risk of extinction.

Experience the fun of visiting three of the five islands of the Mexican Caribbean.

The adventure starts with a short tour around the island of Cancun, and then on to the picturesque port of Isla Mujeres, where you will have an opportunity to get a glimpse of the folklore of the place and have time for shopping local crafts stores. From there, we will sail to a place that few have had the privilege to discover, Isla Contoy. This virgin island, barely 5.2 miles long and only 70 feet at its narrowest point. It is located about 45 minutes north of Isla Mujeres, situated at the beginning of the second largest coral reef chain in the world. The beaches are shallow, clear, and calm, with an abundance of aquatic life that will thrill any snorkeler.

Isla Contoy is internationally recognized for its flora and fauna, especially the birds, of which more than 90 species are considered either resident or migratory.

This natural paradise is a quality tour, uniquely and exclusively for Cancun and those visiting the island aboard The Asterix vessels.
There is no more comfortable way to enjoy it.
Because of federal environmental regulations, the quantity of people that can visit Contoy is limited.
